SIEM – steps taken and implemented
The development of innovative technologies aimed at sustainable development is one of the main priorities of “Siem Ship Management”. One of such technologies proposed by SIEM Ship Management was the use of composite structures on the SIEM Cicero.
ISIEM Cicero is a 7000-car car carrier vessel that features GRP composite structures for three of its cargo decks. It was first extensive application of sandwich composite in the shipping industry.
The key benefits include reduced fuel consumption, increased payload and reduced production lead time.
This resulted in “SIEM Cicero” winning the JEC Innovation Award 2018
