The unique MARPOL Compliance Programme has been implemented only in the SIEM fleet. The aim of this program is to mobilize both ship crews and managers to implement additional environmental protection activities beyond the scope of the MARPOL Convention. These activities involve additional obligations, but the full understanding and pro-ecological attitude of our employees significantly improved the quality and virtually eliminated MARPOL issues.
The main assumptions of the MARPOL Compliance program are:
- control of pipelines and overboard openings;
- control of the chemical used;
- control and verification of used flexible choses which are designated for contact with oily substances;
- crew training in the field of MARPOL, etc.
