Sustainable development” is the most important issue for our planet, the human race, and all business entities in the 21st century. Shipping business is strongly related to marine environment and may pose significant risk of environmental pollution
SIEM Ship Management as a member of the Siem Industries Inc. shares with its surrounding community the important responsibilities toward the environment in which we live and work. The company supports the responsible stewardship of resources including air, land, and water. Responsible stewardship, combined with a continual improvement process, makes possible sustained economic development and an improved quality of life.
These high standards are achieved by operating a dynamic and permanently improving Integrated Management Systems which meets the requirements of the International Standards ISO 14001:2015, ISO 50001:2018 and the ISM Code.
Our efforts to address environmental issues based on the company policy and ISO standards play a central role in achieving this goal. To provide a roadmap for the vision, we have set out several initiatives focused on climate change.
As well as reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, these initiatives promote “sustainable development” that help not only lower GHG emissions, but also step up our activities to protect biodiversity and preserve our natural environment, including of course the marine environment.
By focusing our joint forces on implementing of these very important initiatives, the SIEM Group is helping to preserve our natural environment for future generations.
